Spiritual Cleaning

It is the end of the year, so it is time to clean out our closets.  We have to clean out our home closets and our mental closets.  Our mental closets are hard to clean because we have trash that has accumulated over the years.  When we try to add more trash, our brains are overloaded, and we experience depression, insomnia, and more.  What is a good way to to clean out brain.  I have tried several ways, but the best way is to pray.  The one problem that we have with prayer is that we do not get the answers that we want.  When we feel our prayers are not answered, we start putting more trash like doubt, anxiety, and stress in our mental closets. This is an exhausting process, and causes high blood pressure, headaches, and other health problems.  I know because I  have used this process when I do not want to address the extra baggage that I am carrying.  I wrote a poem about 10 years ago name “Put it Down”.   We have to take our burdens to the Lord and leave it there.  Isn’t it great to know that we have a God who can clean out our closets.  He is able to clear our minds, so we can enjoy life.  Let’s do some cleaning by praying to God, and trust in his word.

Here are some verses to remind us why we should trust in God:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding
Proverbs 3:5

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
Psalm 37:4

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
