Shut Up and Listen

Has anyone every told you to shut up?  I have this line several times.  I love to talk, but this is the wrong attitude to have.  Listening is important.  If you listen to others, you will be able to build relationships, solve problems, and become more understanding.  God is able to  fulfill our needs by listening to our prayers.  What if we asks God for healing of an illness and he does not listen.  We will surely die.  This is a scary thought.  God is not listening to me.  we will not survive without God’s mercyListening helps us to know when to act and when to pray.

James 1:19 states, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry”.  It is hard for us to listen when we are angry.  Do not talk with anyone when you are angry. When we are angry we say the wrong things.  We are not listening because we want to let the other person have it.  I feel there will be less confusion in the world if people would not talk when they are  angry.  Wait when you are calm, so you can listen.

Luke 11:28 states, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”  You will feel better when you study the word everyday.  The Bible show us how one can go through difficult and survive with faith.  If you listen to the word of God, you will look at life with hope.  Starting today, try to listen to word  and obey it’s teaching.  You will see why you should speak less and listen more.

Jeremiah 29:12 states, ” Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”  If we call on the God, he will listen.  This is great to know when you are feeling depress or alone.  When you feel that no one cares, it is great to know that God is listening.  We do not have worry what others think because will listen to us and send his grace to help us.

It is important for us to listen because we will be able to help others and show other how God listen and love us.
