I have written about feeling happy, and how to overcome negative attitudes. Thinking positively is something that we have to practice, but what about other feelings. What about when you see a spouse or significant other, and excited. This is a form of lust, so is this sinful to lust after a spouse? The bible warns us to stay away from these types of feelings. When you first meet someone, you might have these feelings. Most people do. You like their smile, their hair, or their butt. No it’s wrong to lust after everybody, but how about that special someone. I have heard some people say that they had sex on the first date, and now they are happily married. They had to have some form of lust. So is it wrong to lust, or is it wrong to not control your lust. Let’s look for some information on this subject.
The meaning of lust is an intense or unrestrained sexual craving, or an overwhelming desire or craving.
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes.
I do not think that God gave us these feelings, and then will punish us if we feel it. I feel that it is alright to be turned on by a person who you are hoping to have a relationship with. I do think it is wrong to have lust where you cannot control your feelings, and do something crazy like rape someone. Do not feel bad when you feel feelings of lust. We are human. Just control yourself, so these feelings do not overwhelm you, and make you do something crazy.
