How much money will please God?
In church today the pastor spoke on stewardship. Most of us have heard this sermon before because it is about giving. Everyone have their own version of what God wants us to give. Some people say 10 percent, others say give it all, and then others say give what you can, so how much money will make us good stewards? I did some research on this topic, and found these scriptures.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: Mark 12: 41 – 43.
These scriptures states that you should give from the heart. I do believe that God wants our heart because he owns everything else. If God gains our hearts, he can use us to bring others to the light. I often look up scriptures like these because I feel a little guilty when I do not give a certain percentage every Sunday. I might be wrong, so I am asking anybody who knows the correct answer to post your comment at www.reeslife.com or on Facebook.
