Since New Year’s is just around the corner, we are all thinking about our New Year Resolutions. One that I am going to make is to spend more time with God. I have already started meditating on the word, praying more, and trying to think more positive. I have a good feeling when I do this, but I turn on the television, and see fourteen people buried in the name of religion. I want to be more spiritual, but I want to be a positive influence, not a religious fanatic. So today I urge all of you to make sure that you are showing God’s light, and are helping others. It does not matter if you are a Catholic, Christian, or Muslin because you are called to spread God’s love. “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Romans 13:9). Even if you do not believe in God, you should treat people the way you want to be treated. The biggest problem that we have is we do not love ourselves, so lets give ourselves a break. Do not be so hard on yourself. You can do this by doing something good for yourself. Let go of all that guilt. We are not perfect, so forgive others for their flaws. You will live happier and healthier if you love yourself and others.
